The 2012 Olympics are over and there were so many aspects of great design throughout the whole event - from the buildings, the uniforms (and sneakers), the ceremonies, the Olympic torch and the branding. What I'm appreciating is the Olympic Park gardens - they were in full bloom during this epic sporting event and it is these gardens that soften the urban landscapes around the main Olympic locations. The overall effect of the planting is very 'natural', ie plants growing together in spontaneous drifts. However, they have been brought together deliberately to create a low-maintenance, long flowering display. Would it be great if all public spaces were like this? Lovely.

I have been working on an office design this week and through my research, I came across these work spaces by London design agency, Brinkworth. Both workplaces are very clean, uncluttered and fresh. Nice.

Three Years Old

A stylish Notting Hill home by Charles Mellersh Design Studio.

The Charlotte Minty Interior Design blog is 3 years old today. My, time has flown and it has been great pursuing this digital interior design diary over the years. If you've been following my blog over this time, thanks so much for your support and lovely comments. I hope you have found great interior design inspiration and continue to do so.

Sophisticated Notting Hill Flat

Here is a sophisicated Victorian flat in Notting Hill, London by Ebba Thott of Sigmar. Swedish by birth and now based in London, Thott has managed a successful blend of Scandinavian and English design influences in the interiors. I love the grey on the walls, the dark trims and doors as well as the eclectic mix of modern and traditional furnishings (both English and Scandinavian).

Well, today's posting has literally gone to the dogs. Firstly, check out this stylish boutique (above) in London called Mungo and Maud. It is a dog and cat outfitters and their concept store is located on Elizabeth Street, near Sloane Square. So cool to see the merchandise and boutique kept so stylish and simple.

To continue the theme, I came across this great 'Canine Portfolio' by Vanity Fair. It is a collection of fabulous photographs of his dogs by photographer Bruce Weber. You can find out more about Weber's dog gang here.
