Republic of Fritz Hansen's Showroom in Milan

/ Wednesday, January 16, 2013 /

I came across this canteen belonging to Republic of Fritz Hansen and had a drool - imagine having your meals sitting in and surrounded by the top design classics in the last century. Then I found their new Milan showroom which opened in December - even better! I could walk out with all the pieces and the spaces are stunning.
Designed by Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto from Studiopepe with architect Stefano Tagliacarne.

Ferm Living SS 2013

/ Thursday, January 10, 2013 /

The new Ferm Living catalogue for Summer Spring 2013 has been released and it is a continuation of the graphic, retro-modern mix that the Danish company does so well. I love the slightly bleached out effect of the photography, the great styling and of course, their cool products. See the whole catalogue here.

Spindle Back Chairs

/ Wednesday, December 5, 2012 /
Host restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark by Norm Architects.

Hyperion Public restaurant in Los Angeles, USA by Claire Stansfield

I love the use of the spindle back dining chairs in these two diverse restaurants from opposite sides of the world. I think there may be a childhood influence here as I seem to recall a similar chair when I was younger. The chairs rock in the black, whites and greys.

New Norm Dinnerware

/ Sunday, December 2, 2012 /

I had to share these beautiful images of the New Norm Dinnerware, designed by Copenhagen architecture and design firm, Norm and produced by Danish designhouse, Menu.
"When midsummer’s blue skies transform to the grey depths of autumn … When the dense forest tranquillity opens harmoniously on to the fresh and rolling sea … When the changing light, landscape and seasons are both an essential part of life and a source of eternal joy … Then you are in Scandinavia." The dinnerware range is centred around the basic white plate, which can change its look with a smaller grey or blue plate. Beautiful.

Noma Restaurant by Space Copenhagen

/ Tuesday, November 13, 2012 /

This is Noma, an eatery in Copenhagen and it was awarded the 'World Best Restaurant' for the third time this year.
I have only have ever seen the occasional image of the restaurant, however Noma has recently had a interior overhaul by Danish studio, Space Copenhagen and here is the result. The earthy, cosy and hearty feel of the restaurant has remained - the previously brown tones have been replaced with black and the floors with light oak. All the new elegant details really add to the overall modern Nordic feel. Read more about it here.
